Queen Eleanor Cross, London Road
One of a number of similar crosses erected to mark the resting
places of the funeral cortege of Queen Eleanor, beloved wife of
Edward I, on her final journey across the country in 1290. Only
three such crosses still remain, one of which is Charing Cross
in London. The other two are in Northamptonshire.
