A brief history Task Force Albania1991 saw the ending of communism in Albania along with47 years of isolation from the rest of the world. When TV pictureswere shown in September that year on the BBC, of the poverty,suffering and plight of countless orphaned children, it becamethe catalyst for the forming of Task Force Albania (TFA). The presentNine years later, 'TFA' has transported £7 million ofhumanitarian aid and made 45 missions to Europe's poorest country. The British Children's Library project'TFA's move into development took place in 1999 with the buildingand creation of The British Children's Library in the capital,Tirana. Suddenly - 250,000 children had access to thousands of Englishbooks, computers classes for I.T. skills and English courses too. |

The futureWith the success of the Tirana library, the scheme is now beingextended to 10 of Albania's major cities. It will bring furthereducation to 1/2 million children, through books, computers andEnglish lessons. We at 'TFA' believe that changing the children'smindset will ensure wealth and prosperity for future generationsof Albanians. Our mission statement is a dream that is fastbecoming a reality:
